DIVING
The diving site of Sabang Beach-Puerto Galera, one of the diving hotspots in the Philippines, includes around 35 diving spots offering a unique coral diversity. At depths of 5 to 40 meters divers can discover an underwater world that is one of a kind and unique in the world.
BEACHES, SWIMMING
Small La Laguna Beach
Small La Laguna Beach is a very popular beach located directly next to Sabang. It’s perfect for snorkeling. In the evenings, the place gets ready to party, too – if not quite as wild as the neigbouring beach.
Big La Laguna Beach
Big La Laguna Beach is another popular snorkeling site as the coast offers a coral reef well worth seeing. The beach borders Small La Laguna Beach in the west and is located in a beautiful cove. This beach is distinguished by its bright white sand.
White Beach
Sun worshipprs will love White Beach ten kilometers west of Puerto Galera. The wide beach with its fine sand is perfect for relaxing and sunbathing. Here, too, you can enjoy your evening with a sundowner at one of the lovely beach bars or dinner at a good seafood restaurant. Anyone who’s looking for solitude and quiet will find small, romantic coves close to White Beach.
WATERFALLS
The Tamaraw Waterfalls
129 meters high, the Tamaraw waterfalls are located about 15 km south of Puerto Galera. Several waterfalls cascade over a cliff covered in moss. The small lake at the foot of the waterfalls is perfect for a nice swim.
Tukuran Falls
Tukuran Falls are literally described as a hidden paradise inside a paradise. It’s a small waterfall surrounded by a wealth of green as far as the eye can see. This gem is a dream destination for backpackers and the water flowing from the waterfall crags is coming fresh from the mountain. It won’t be easy to get here, but Tukuran Falls is worth the journey – promise!
ZIPLINING
If you want to experience beautiful views of the landscape, a trip to the Puerto Galera Zipline is just the thing for you. It is low-priced, safe and guarantees an absolute rush. Reach dizzying heights and observe the peninsula from a bird’s eye view.
KAYAKING
Another extremely popular activity. The kayak allows you to explore the ocean in a more quiet and natural way and the view of the water is much clearer. Very relaxed, very simple, and very cheap – like most other things here.
MOTORCYCLING
You want to explore the peninsula on your own? Rent a Motorbike. They are extremely cheap (often from 40 pesos per hour or 300 pesos for the whole day), and the best way to discover the area with all its little Barangays (small villages), because you can stop and explore wherever you want. However, half a day should be sufficient to do that.
NIGHT LIFE
The sun has gone down and now it’s time to get to know the other side of Puerto Galera.
Important note: The best night life can still be found in Sabang. AlthoughWhite Beach offers a few nice bars as well, you should spend your nights in Sabang if you’re keen to meet women.
You’ll quickly notice two things. First, the Sabang Beach Walk, a narrow alley full of bars, clubs and various other establishments. Most single men spend every night in this area.
Pretty much every bar you’ll visit in Puerto Galera offers the so-called Mindoro Sling on its drinks menu. This is the most famous drink of the island and it contains fruit juice, rum and lemonade. Depending on the bar, it can be farily strong because the sweetness often conceals the rum content.
